This has been a great study! Max Lucado is a wonderful author and speaks as well as writes from the heart. This consist of 5 sessions that focus on Anxiety and what the Bible says about it and what we can do to help with the subject. This study has really helped me a lot. I highly recommend this to anyone who suffers from Anxiety.

I've listened to the audio book and it is a MUST read. I accidentally purchased the Study Guide, instead of the actual book. I kept this study guide, although it is intented for a small group (church members). The study guide has helped me for my daily devotionals. The study guide refers to questions based on a video (which is not included). It has a great reflections based on the book. It is definitely the next level to reflect and make changes in your life.

Excellent book that anyone who has ever panicked or been anxious should read. Common sense writing that is clear and easy to understand this is a winner from Max Lucado. We used it with our Sunday School class and found the scriptures to be excellent that are included in the book.

Amazing book. so much so, that I bought several copies to give away to friends who needed this exact help.

I have only read a couple chapters so far, but my wife has read this and loves it. She bought copies for her closest friend, who have too much anxiety like most of us. The title is from Phillippians, and is basically to be anxious for nothing, but instead to ask God for answers.

Great small group study - Make sure you allow 90 minutes for the study or do over multiple weeks. It is really worth the time.

The topic is well handled and some of the questions the author asks are very good. But the format of the book is basically a work book and I did not find the format useful to our group that chose to "read" the book.

I bought this study guide as advertised: In this five-session video Bible study, bestselling author Max Lucado explores God’s treatment plan for anxiety found in Philippians 4:4–8. ...I bought this in addition to the book of the same title to help in leading a small group. When it arrived on my Kindle, i was very disappointed to find out that none of the videos are included! In the "VIDEO" study guide, to me it is implied that you would also be paying for access to the videos that are integral to this study guide. Very disappointed, not in the content but the fact that I can't access the videos that the content is based on!

This book is wonderful . It is the second one I own as I like to keep in in my house and the other I take with me when I travel. It is easy to read and understand. It gives what I feel is a good, reasonable perspective on how to view difficult issues, appropriate actions and the reasons why.

I truly enjoyed this book! While I am not a Jew, I read this book daily and use it as an inspiration to treat others with love and respect. This book motivated me to purchase other books written by Rabbi Telushkin. I am very thankful for his humble yet powerful teachings.I purchased a second copy for a family member who also loves it!

I'm a USA born-and-bred Jew, and I've searched for years for the essence of Jewish values. What's unique about Jews? I'll dismiss standard virtues as kindness to strangers, emphasis on learning, adherence to ritual. Most religions do that.Telushkin did not address my question directly. By the time I finished the book, however, I had decided that the critical qualification was deep concern for the feelings of others. Telushkin illustrated this in one example after another after another.The organization of the book may not please all readers. It's set up as one ethical question per calendar day, with every seventh day off for Sabbath review.

I’ve loved reading this book. It has opened my mind and given me different perspective on certain topics. It’s an easy one to pick up and read as much or little as you want. We’ve started picking topics from each week and discussing during Shabbat which gets everyone involved and makes for a good conversation.

Rabbi Joseph Telushkin has done it again. I think he is one of the best authors around. He has not disappointed me in anything I have bought. This book is a MUST to have. You can use it as a devotional in the fact you can use this book every day of your life year after year. Each day there is something interesting to read and the subjects will really change your life for the best if you let it. This book is not just Jewish values (even though we need to thank the Jews for so many teachings they have given us) it is values for everyone. If everyone followed these practices we would have heaven here on earth.

My husband and I have been following this chapter-a-day guide since we started counting the Omer this year. I did not realize when we began that this is a very traditional thing to do. Reading the chapters one per day is the way this book is designed and should be read. Each week has a theme which is sometimes obvious and other times more subtle. The idea is to read each days message and think about it throughout your day. How can you apply the message to your life? Do you agree with the premise? Every message is supported with quotes from the Torah, the Talmud or other sources, Rabbi Telushkin interprets the text as a message for modern life often with a story from his own experience. I like that he presents himself as an individual with fears and flaws struggling to be the person God expects him to be. Many of the stories are simplistic but I don't see that as a flaw. The purpose of the book is to get you to think about ethical issues and focus on your values and what Judaism teaches is the correct response. It's not intended to be a deep scholarly work. But it may push to read more, to follow up on the sources referenced, to talk about the issues in the books with others. It's definitely a bit of tikkun olam.

An interesting, lively topical discussion of dozens of Jewish ethics -- an interesting reader for anyone with an interest in ethics, or for anyone who wants to learn more about Judaism. This book feels like a conversation, with many stories and historical anecdotes of the teachings of famous rabbis. If you are not comfortable at times with the superficiality of the post-modern world, this book will show you what we are missing in our day-to-day lives and provides concise, thoughtful write-upsthat suggest other ways we may navigate the world. One of my favorite books for years.

I really like this book. I was jealous of my Christian friends and their devotionals, so I ordered Rabbi Telushkin's book to read daily. It's set up in a Monday - Friday format with short readings that you can ponder as the day goes on. I've been reading it first thing in the morning and it sets the day off right.

Damian Brindle produced the excellent Drive Safely book. It is written in succinct clear plain language and should be read by all drivers, especially young inexperienced drivers. Parents should give this book to every teen with a learner permit. It should be handed out in every drivers ed class for those of any age. Importantly Mr. Brindle covers distracted driving beyond just the warnings about cellphone use. I also liked the advice he gave about making all the adjustments to mirrors, A/C, radio, seats before a driver gets underway. Throughout the book Mr. Brindle provides hyperlinks to sources for statistics, as well as useful references, products and other survival/safety books. As a former EMT and Outdoor Emergency Care instructor, I have made it a habit to have emergency first aid supplies in my vehicles and the gloves I keep are high temperature resistant types. Mr Brindle has excellent advice.

Everyone needs a reminder, so this book is suitable for experienced drivers that need to be reminded of some rules of the road and driving techniques they have forgotten. And it's excellent for learning drivers, of course.

My present baseball library consists of about 50 - 60 books, ranging from biographies, baseball statistics, and baseball history. “Lords of the Realm” is the best baseball book I’ve ever read. It is very well written, totally engaging, and incredibly informative about owner-player relationships over the years. Parts of the book are laugh-out-loud funny. I plan on re-reading it before the start of next season.

Helyar's book dives into the long, tumultuous history of the business of baseball. He shows the evolution of the game from a sport completely dominated by the owners to a struggle between the owners and the labor union. Most chapters show an evolution from this standpoint, with a few asides about popular baseball issues during their time (i.e. the suspension of George Steinbrenner and Pete Rose). Lots of interesting tidbits can be found in this book, such as why Dodgers Stadium serves only Miller beer products and how Catfish Hunter got his nickname. One downside is the book is slightly lengthy (over 600 pages), but a large majority of it is relevant, interesting, and easy to read. I strongly recommend this for any fan of baseball.

This is an excellent read for what is probably going to happen when the next CBA comes up. With the 2017 off season issues the Lords have woken up the MLBPA. Should be interesting.

I can't imagine a book that better documents the history of baseball. The book is extremely well researched and brings many events together to explain why Major League Baseball is where it is when the book ends in the early nineteen nineties. The only disappointment I had with the book is that it stops before one of the most significant and controversial events in Major League Baseball history, the 1993 lockout.

This is my favorite baseball book. I'm a huge fan of the game, and like the nostalgia aspect of it (the first three innings of Ken Burns baseball are perfect to me), but this book takes you behind the public face of the game. There are plenty of books that focus on individual players, seasons, and teams, but few that focus on baseball from the business and particularly labor aspect of the game. After reading this, you can see why the MLBPA and MLB enjoy relative peace after their epic battles while the other leagues still ride roughshod over their respective unions. It has all the characters that make baseball history so entertaining; Kenesaw Mountain Landis, Bowie Kuhn, Charlie Finley, Marvin Miller... and related interesting stories, Catfish Hunter getting free agency because Charley Finley was sloppy with payments is the most amusing to me. The book is primarily written from a pro-player/labor view point, so if that doesn't appeal to you, this might not be the best read other than that, it holds up.

Anyone wanting to know what happened in the board rooms, this is the book. Baseball has survived in spite of itself!

If you love baseball and are interested in the business and history of the game this book is a must read. one of the best baseball books I've read in at least 100.

Each of these serviceable studies in the Historical American Biographies series imparts a relatively detailed overview of its subject's life, works, distinctive outlook, and character. Of the two, Thoreau makes drier reading, as McCarthy is given to name-dropping and extraneous details. He does, however, include a discussion of Thoreau's enduring influence, along with brief passages that capture the flavor of his writing, and refreshingly frank descriptions of him by contemporaries. Like Thoreau, Remington is presented as a maverick with a yen to wander, who died young and at the height of his creative powers. But unlike Thoreau, he was an outgoing, robust sort, who achieved almost immediate fame as soon as he turned to art full-time. Both books are sturdily supported by endnotes, plus lists of print and Web resources, but their black-and-white illustrations of old photos and prints are poor in quality, and Remington mentions many works that are not illustrated at all. This is my second time buying this carafe. My husband broke the first one. My sister broke the second one. Both were broken by setting it down (they really didn't set it down too hard in my opinion) on the granite counter. It's a good genuine product that fits the system, but the glass breaks really easily. I wish I could find an insulated carafe so I could stop worrying about people breaking mine!

I really like my ninja coffee maker and seems unfair to rate the coffee pot replacement separately because it does exactly what it’s supposed to do in relation to its design. It replaces the same ridiculous pot that came with the original machine. It’s nearly impossible to clean. I have to stuff a sponge in it and use a handle of something (a scrub brush or spatula) to try to maneuver the sponge around inside. That’s how I broke the original one so it’s only a matter of time. So I guess what I’m saying is that I need it for the coffee maker that I really like but I also know it’s going to keep breaking so maybe it should cost less so it won’t be so painful every time I buy a new one?

Bought this as a replacement for the one that came with my Ninja coffee bar that I broke, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the glass is a little thicker and feels more sturdy. Other than that, it's the same as the one that came with my coffee bar, and works really well. My only complaint about these is that they are not easy to clean (must be taken apart completely) and the metal mesh gets ragged on the edges after a while. But it makes great foam and is the perfect size for a latte.

I received on with my ninja coffee maker. This is the only cup I used. It kept hot things hot and cold things cold. I ordered two more to keep in my collection. Wonderful! EXCEPT now that I had it awhile, these cups do stain to the point that you cannot remove the stains. I reserved the two additional cups that I purchased for drinking water only.

UPDATE after a week of normal use the finish on my cup has started to peel off. Would not ever buy again.I bought this cup solely because it was dishwasher safe which is awesome. I love the stainless steel but there is a seam inside the cup that makes me worry about mold growing inside the cup. It’s insulated and keeps my coffee warm for seriously hours. My only complaint is that the mouth price is awkward for me and I often end up spilling it in myself.

I got this with my Ninja and loved it. However, I knocked it over and the glass broke. I replaced it with a stainless frother and was so disappointed. The milk never got as frothy and nice as in this model. I ended up sending that stainless one to the donation pile and bought this one again. I love it. Really quick and easy to use.

Hands down the best Frother on the market. I have tried the battery operated ones to no avail and have tried using my french press as a frother but the press was too large if you only want to use a few ounces of milk. Cleaning isn't bad. I just add some hot water and soap and pretend I am making some froth, then a few rinses. No need to take apart like the instructions suggest.
