I had such high hopes for this book. Right on the front cover it says, "amazing and simple recipes".P. 46 - Coconut Butter Cups = one of the ingredients is ERYTHRITOL. Does anyone know what that is?P. 66 - Coleslaw-Stuffed Keto Wraps = calls for 1 lb of COOKED GROUND MEAT.The little book is only 100 pages. It has NO pictures. What a rip off.Don't waste your money on this book.
This book has recipes that seems like every single serving is 16-18 grams of carbs ... Hello, not working for me. No thanks, this will be a donation book for sure. Sad, it's like the author is clueless on Carbs.
I purchased the kindle version to view on my tablet or phone. At first it was a little difficult to read but since the kindle app has been updated, reading and viewing is no problem. Kindle implemented “continuous scroll†which allows you to read this book as if you were viewing it on a webpage and none of the charts are broken up.The book itself is a pretty basic Keto diet book for vegetarians. It has a pretty good selection of Keto friendly vegetarian dishes as well as how to supplement if you’re vegan or have a dairy sensitivity. I will say this is a wonderful book for beginners, but if you are not already vegetarian or vegan then this way of eating may be challenging for you and your body. I would always consult a doctor before making any drastic changes like this. I appreciate the fact that the carb and caloric content is included. Most of the recipes have around half of what you would normally want to take in, around 18 carbs per recipe. That was a little challenging for me since my daily carbohydrates should be somewhere around 35. The author is great at breaking down what the diet is and how it works, any adverse side effects including the “Keto flu†and even the history of the Keto diet. I had never tried the Keto diet before this book and I’d have to say the first part of the book was really informative on what I should be doing and what to expect.Also included is a complimentary meal plan so you can try it out without having to go through each recipe individually, if you so choose. I’d say the recipes for myself were about 40% successful. Some of the ingredients were a little strange to me and not something I’d necessarily have on hand.With all that being said, I think this is a great option for a current vegetarian or vegan who wants to start the Keto lifestyle. The only reason it has 3/5 stars is because a lot of the recipes didn’t fit my particular palette, but that’s not to say it won’t fit yours. I’m a finicky eater haha. The kindle version is a bargain and it’s convenient to have everything on your tablet or phone.
Wow! Glad that I found this book! This is a good book to start with for people who wanna try going vegan. This is a great book on which you will learn a way of eating that will help you to lose weight while you're enjoying delicious meals and becoming more healthy and vital at the same time. I highly recommend this book to beginners or anyone looking to switch to this type of lifestyle and diet.
Just got this book, I've been excited to get it. I still have to spend time with it so take this review lightly, but I'm kinda disappointed in a few things already. First of all, the whole first half of the book is chapters about "ketotarianism", how to become this, reasons for trying this diet, how to eat out, suppliments, etc... While this is probably great for some people, I was expecting just a cookbook with vegetarian keto recipes. The second half of the book is all recipes that look amazing with great photos, however there are 20 pages of fish and seafood recipes. I knew there was going to be some meat recipes because of the "almost" in the description, but I didn't expect a whole chapter, especially after half of the book already went to learning about keto. I do love the meal plans at the end of the book, however I wish the author had thought to write page numbers with the recipes listed. They are not listed in the index under the recipe name so the only way to look up each recipe on the meal plans is to leaf through the pages until you find it.
Recipes look great. I haven’t tried them yet but I bought ingredients for a few today to try. There are some problems with the book though - one recipe calls for ground beef (not substitute??) and another says to preheat oven to 400 degrees but never says to put anything in the oven?? I suspect I’ll find more issues as I get through the entire book.
I have been following this meal plan since a week, and I can easily see the difference now, what I really like about this book is that each day meal plan is devided into breakfast, Lunch and dinner meals and there is no mess,so, i dont feel overwhelmed with lot of recipes and plans. simply helpful. Helpful book for all amazon!
This has been a great book for adding in more vegetarian options into my cooking. I haven't tried all of the recipes, but the ones I have used (mostly the dinners) have all turned out great. I know I could have gotten the ebook version, but I like being able to make notes in my cookbooks or mark certain pages, and not worry about it getting dirty while I'm cooking. Awesome book!
